Built in Lighting. You light your charcoal without smelly lighter fluid or red hot chimneys.
The German Grill has a built-in process to light the charcoal in a clean and safe way. Pour in the charcoal from the top, add newspaper through a door at the bottom and light it with a match. Once the coals are glowing, you flip a small lever and distribute the coals in whatever pattern you want.
Fast Lighting
We tested dozens of methods before deciding what works best. We are really proud of this feature!
You can expect a large (100 briquet) load to be ready to cook in 15 - 20 minutes even on a cold day. Smaller loads will light even faster.
In a hurry? Speed up the lighting process by adding several loads of newspaper to give the fire another boost of heat. Keep stuffing it in until the charcoal is ready to go.
