Shipping, delivery, returns

Our Policies

Shipping rates are high ... but not because of us. The shipping charges on your order are calculated instantaneously by UPS. We simply pass them through and add them in. We're not trying to make any money on shipping and we don't play games with "handling fees".

German Grill is happy to ship most of our products to locations outside the United States, however, these deliveries require additional charges. A customer service representative will contact you within one to three business days after your order to provide a final shipping quote before your order is finalized, or any charges are applied to your credit card.

When placing your order, please be sure to include an email address or fax number so we can contact you with a quote.

The grill comes in three boxes unless you pay extra for assembly. The Firebox is the heaviest, and the box weighs roughly 65 lbs. The cover is next and this box weighs about 55, and the chimney is in the third box at about 25 pounds. We do it this way so that the average person can unpack everything and put it together without hurting themselves. Even so, we recommend that you have some help with the firebox. It's heavy and awkward, but we can't really make it any lighter without compromising quality. Get some help with the assembly so you don't drop anything.

The cart comes in its own box weighing about 50 pounds. The cabinet is in two boxes.

The firebox is the only really heavy piece; none of the other individual pieces weighs over 25 pounds. We do all of the complicated assembly work and aligment at the factory, so your parts go together quickly.

Please inspect your item(s) for damage prior to signing the delivery receipt. Damages must be described in writing on the receipt at the time of delivery.

Deliveries are typically made within 2 weeks of ordering and will arrive using a standard shipping company such as UPS or Federal Express.

Smaller and lighter products, such as grill covers and utensil sets, will be delivered via UPS and will be packaged with your grill for simultaneous delivery if they are ordered at the same time.

Please be aware that our quotes for shipping outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico do not include any applicable duty, value added taxes (VAT), or import consumption taxes. You will be required to pay the duty or VAT upon delivery of your merchandise. Due to import duty valuation adjustments and currency valuations, we cannot provide an estimate for duty or VAT.

To return a product for warranty work, or for any other reason, please contact us before you send it. We will advise you as to the best method to use for shipping and can also supply packaging material or boxes for you to use to assure that the equipment is not damaged in shipping.

German grill is not responsible for shipping charges of products shipped from you to us. We are responsible for the shipping charges to return the equipment to you, given the exclusions above regarding shipments outside the continental US.
